Joint Azusa-Duarte City Council Meeting
Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
Background
Vulcan Materials began mining the north-east boundary of their allowed conditional use permit in early 2007. On November 14, 2007 Vulcan Materials held an informational meeting with prominent citizens of Azusa to generate backing for their mining expansion plans. In the beginning of 2008, Vulcan Materials sent a letter to the city of Azusa threatening to sue the city if they did not agree to an expansion of mining in Fish Canyon.
Joint Council Meeting
The Azusa city council is holding a rare joint meeting with the city council of our sister city, Duarte, to discuss our options in opposing Vulcan's threats.
So, please join us Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Azusa City Hall Auditorium (213 E. Foothill Blvd, Azusa, CA 626-812-5200). Please invite your neighbors!
